Doing Sub Totals In Excel Lists

I was asked to add subtotals to a list that we exported from Access using Automation the other day. This page describes one way that I could do it. To do it in Automation, I will turn on the Excel macro recorder, capture the code and then add that to my export code. Thats the theory, I wonder if I will get asked formally to do it.
